The GreenGard are the personal guard of Empress Sujira, made up of an elite selection of Balleryth inhabitants. These Balleryth are chosen through ritual and divine claim rather than birth or merit. The GreenGard are a small, immovable wall — the Empress’s living shield. Only the Island race known as the Always female, their forms are distinctive and unmistakable: four-armed figures draped in ceremonial armour of deep jade and gold, their presence radiating both reverence and dread.



Each GreenGard carries a trident, a weapon unlike any seen elsewhere in Anarkand. These tridents are infused with sentinel energy, a mysterious energy source that is said to have been drawn from the ancient relics buried deep within Sujira Island. These relics are believed to be those created and / or developed by the ancient precursors of the universe. When wielded, the tridents crackle with electrical power, striking with bolts of lightning that can tear through both flesh and armour.



The GreenGard are never seen beyond the Empress’s inner sanctum. When they do appear outside of the sanctum, their arrival is regarded as an omen — for if they are called to action, it means Sujira’s life, or the sanctity of her island, is at stake. Their four arms allow them a deadly versatility in combat, weaving dances of steel and lightning with a grace both beautiful and horrifying to behold. More than soldiers, they are symbols: living embodiments of Sujira’s untouchable sovereignty, and of the belief that she is divinely bound to Emperor Radamik.
