About

The EyeQons were a specialised class of enforcement and surveillance machines developed during the 10th Era of Anarkand. They were commissioned by an engineering consortium established under the authority of The Royal Guard of Kabal, with a singular purpose: to impose absolute order upon the industrial facilities controlled by the royal family of The Union of Kabal.

Originally conceived as tools of public security, the EyeQons quickly became synonymous with intimidation, surveillance and industrial oppression. Their primary deployment was within the enormous meat-processing facilities operated by the Union, where vast numbers of workers, many of them enslaved, were forced to maintain relentless production schedules.

During the development of the original EyeQon programme, the engineering consortium attempted to create a much larger version of the EyeQon Guard. These enormous units were intended to patrol vast industrial complexes from above while simultaneously functioning as heavy enforcement platforms.

The project was plagued by problems.

The larger body required enormous quantities of energy, proved difficult to manoeuvre within enclosed industrial structures and suffered from severe instability. Worse still, the engineering consortium discovered a fundamental flaw in the design far too late in development. The body simply wasn't viable.

Years of work and enormous quantities of resources had already been invested into the project. Rather than abandon it completely, the engineers examined the one component that had consistently exceeded expectations.

The head.

The EyeQon's enormous ocular surveillance system was exceptionally effective. It could track movement, identify individuals and observe enormous areas without requiring a conventional camera network. The consortium therefore abandoned the body and kept the head. The surviving design was stripped down, reconstructed and radically re-engineered around Sentinel Energy. The resulting machine was considerably smaller than the proposed giant EyeQon, but vastly more efficient.

The head could now operate independently. It could fly. It could hover. And, most importantly, it could watch.

The first EyeQon Security Drone represented a major transformation in Kabal surveillance technology. The machines no longer needed to patrol the factory floor physically. They could float above it, moving silently through enormous processing chambers while their enormous eyes scanned hundreds of workers simultaneously.

Their deployment transformed the Union's industrial security system. Factories that had once required dozens of EyeQon Guards could now be monitored from above by relatively small numbers of aerial units. The drones became particularly important in the meat-production facilities of the Union of Kabal, where escape attempts were considered a direct threat to production.

The drones were equipped with sophisticated movement detection and identification systems. Their Sentinel Energy cores allowed them to remain airborne for extended periods while continuously transmitting surveillance information to the facility's central security systems.
