Thieves are crafty, sneaky, and good at what they do. Novice thieves often get caught, they make mistakes, leave evidence behind, or have to resort to escape fairly early on from their intended mission.
The master thief, which is one that has honed their skills, will benefit from the luxury of lockpicking, moving around in the shadows unseen, pickpocketing without getting caught, and accessing areas that otherwise would have been out-of-bounds. In addition, the better the thief is, the greater the chance that they will avoid tripping alarms, being spotted on security cameras and alerting security bots.
