Radamis Empire

A b o u t

The Radamis Empire is one of the oldest and most formidable civilisations in all of Anarkand. Situated centrally, its influence stretches far beyond its borders, be it politically, economically, religiously, and culturally. With a population nearing 400 million, Radamis is an absolute superpower with a long and rich history of war and domination. Its people live beneath the radiant shadow of their eternal ruler, Emperor Radamik, whose divinity is recognised by nearly every faith on the continent.

Radamis is a nation of gilded cities of shining spires and technological marvels rising above deserts of red sand and ancient ruins, each whispering the story of millennia past. Its people are proud, disciplined, and profoundly spiritual, living lives that are deeply intertwined with the belief that their Emperor is not merely mortal, but the Creator of Anarkand itself.

The Cities of Radamis.

Ankhara:

Ankhara is both the political and spiritual heart of the Empire. The city’s architecture is a striking fusion of divine symbolism and modern mastery — golden domes, marble causeways, and Mazkars that stretch like needles into the skies. The Imperial Citadel (Ankhara Citadel) is a massive dome-like complex, which dominates the skyline, housing the Emperor’s court, the High Council, and the vast Chamber from which Radamis oversees the balance of the world’s atmospheric shields.

Magog:

Where Ankhara governs, Magog builds. This southern city is the industrial powerhouse of Radamis, a city of smouldering towers, mechanical wonders, and endless construction. It is said that Magog never sleeps. Its factories and foundries hum constantly, crafting everything from Red Hex conduits to the magnificent airships that carry the Emperor’s banners across the skies.

Aeris:

Perched atop the central plateau of Radamis, Aeris is a place of learning and mysticism. It is the Empire’s centre for scientific and arcane advancement, home to the Academy of Aether Studies, where scholars explore the mysteries of Hex energy, transmutation, and celestial engineering. Aeris is also where the Order of the Flame, Radamis’ most elite military order, trains its champions.

The Reign of Emperor Radamik

Emperor Radamik is more than a ruler. He is seen as the origin of all life on Anarkand. Ancient scriptures tell of his ascension era ago, when he shaped the Red Hexes that protect the world from cosmic ruin. He is said to have bound the stars themselves into obedience and breathed life into the first races.

Radamik’s rule is eternal. His presence unwavering through the passage of ages. Many scholars across Anarkand debate how this is possible, yet in Radamis, to question his immortality is heresy punishable by exile or worse. His visage adorns every many corners and central hubs of many cities, not only in Radamis, but across the world. Each and every one a reminder of divine authority.

He rules not alone, but alongside his consort and counterpart: Empress Sujira.

Empress Sujira and Her Island

Sujira, known as the Empress, is revered as the eternal companion of Radamik — the flame to his stone. She is believed to embody mercy, beauty, and spiritual guidance, balancing the Emperor’s divine authority with compassion. Her worship extends far beyond Radamis, especially in Dumatra, where her name carries fanatical devotion.

As a gift of eternal love, Radamik granted her an entire island — Sujira Island, just north of Caroline Island in the south-west of Anarkand. The island is said to be a paradise of white shores, luminous coral seas, and palatial temples. Pilgrims from all corners of the world travel there seeking blessings, healing, and visions of the divine. No violence or war is permitted within its borders; to desecrate the island is to challenge the Emperor himself.

Government and Society

The Radamis Empire is ruled as a divine monarchy, with Radamik serving as both sovereign and god. Despite a strict social order, the Empire ensures that all citizens have access to food, education, and spiritual guidance. Faith is woven into every part of life, even machinery is inscribed with divine runes believed to channel Radamik’s blessing.

Temples throughout the Empire host ceremonies, where crimson energy flows through crystal conduits, lighting the skies in displays of power and devotion. The Empire’s scientists are as revered as Mazkarians (equivalent to priests on Earth) blurring the lines between religion and science.

Radamis’ reach extends into nearly every corner of the world. It has long been involved in mediating global affairs, often presenting itself as the guardian of balance. However, this benevolence is not without suspicion.

Many nations, including Eastern Iola, Samokov, and even Karasis, accuse Radamis of manipulation, citing the Empire’s tendency to interfere under the guise of aid. The Empire’s involvement in the formation of the Union of Kabal, its reconstruction efforts, and its influence over Temple of Anark policy have made it a power both admired and feared.

Though the Radamis Empire is regarded highly on Anarkand, its history is built upon centuries of conflict with divine wars, continental conquests, and ideological crusades. The Empire’s expansion and influence were never achieved solely through faith or diplomacy; they were forged in the fires of divine warfare, led under the banner of Emperor Radamik and, at times, his radiant consort Empress Sujira, through the use of a formidable army known as the Disciples.

These wars, spanning countless eras, were often framed not as acts of aggression but as acts of divine correction, purges, restorations, and “cleansings” intended to preserve what the Empire saw as balance within Anarkand. Below is a summary of the major wars in which the Radamis Empire played a central role.

1. The First Divine War (1st–2nd Era)

“When mortals forgot their maker, the maker reminded them.”

The War of Ascension is the first major recorded conflict in Anarkand’s early history, taking place shortly after Emperor Radamik’s supposed manifestation as the Creator of the Red Hex. It was a cataclysmic war fought between the early tribes of central Anarkand who denied Radamik’s divinity, and those who accepted him as god-emperor.

This war unified the central regions of Anarkand and established the Radamis Empire as both a nation and a divine order.

2. The Crusades of Purity (3rd–5th Era)

“Faith must not fade, even beneath foreign suns.”

As the Empire grew, so too did its need to export its faith. The Crusades of Purity were a series of campaigns launched across eastern and western Anarkand to “re-educate” lands that strayed from the Emperor’s light. The crusades were both religious and territorial, bringing several now-great nations under the early influence of Radamis.

The Crusades spread the word of Radamik far and wide, allowing the Empire to exert subtle control through technological and atmospheric means. However, they also sowed the seeds of resentment among emerging nations, particularly Andromania and Western Iola, who viewed the campaigns as veiled imperialism.

3. The War of the Red Veil (7th Era)

“The gods do not weep — they reclaim.”

The War of the Red Veil was a civil war within the Radamis Empire itself. This was the only time in history when Ankhara’s divine authority was truly challenged. It erupted after a schism in the west, when reformist holy men declared that Emperor Radamik was no longer a divine being, but merely a relic of a forgotten age.

The War of the Red Veil reasserted Radamik’s control over the spiritual order and eradicated any open dissent within the Empire. The event also solidified the immortality doctrine, making it illegal to publicly question the Emperor’s divine status.

4. The Southern Strait War (10th Era)

“To mend the skies, we must first break the chains.”

Though the Southern Strait War was primarily fought between the lesser Kaballan nations and the alliance of Marrakis, Murdu, and Dumatra, the Radamis Empire played a decisive and complex role. Initially neutral, Radamis intervened late in the war, seeking to stabilise the failing Red Hexes and prevent total atmospheric collapse.

The Red Hex above Kabal was severely damaged during the war, leading to one of the deadliest existential crises in recorded history. Radamis deployed Mazkarians and engineers to reconstruct the Hex systems, effectively saving Kabal from extinction. After the war, Radamis used its resources to help unite the devastated Kaballan states into a single political entity - The Union of Kabal - effectively making them a protectorate.

While Radamis was hailed as a saviour, critics accused it of opportunism for using the crisis to expand its influence. The Union of Kabal remains closely tied to the Empire, economically and technologically dependent on Radamis’ oversight of the rebuilt Hex pipelines.

5. The War of Iola (12th Era)

“Division is the sharpest weapon.”

Though Radamis never officially declared war in the conflict between Eastern and Western Iola, many historians believe the Empire played a shadowy role. Alongside the United Territories of Samokov, Radamis is suspected of having subtly fuelled divisions within the once-united Iolan state, using religious and economic manipulation to fracture their unity.

Though no concrete proof of Radamis’ involvement exists, the global consensus remains suspicious. Many believe the Empire deliberately fractured Iola to prevent it from surpassing Radamis as a continental superpower.
