Lifa Nekata is a nation shaped by contrast and guardianship. Situated in northern Anarkand, just beyond the Baraniendemor mountains, it exists alongside one of the planet’s most sacred natural wonders, the Nekata Forest. Though distinct from the forest itself, Lifa Nekata has long assumed the role of its protector, standing as a living buffer between the wider world and a place many believe should never be fully claimed or altered.
The land of Lifa Nekata is remarkably varied. Along its safer lowlands and river corridors rise modern metropolitan centres, cities of glass, marble, and living alloys that hum with research, trade, and cultural exchange. These cities showcase advanced architecture carefully designed to minimise ecological impact, blending vertical gardens and breathable structures into dense urban skylines. Innovation thrives here, but it is tempered by strict environmental codes rooted in ancient tradition rather than modern law alone.
Beyond the cities, the country softens into old-style villages, timber settlements, and ancestral tribal grounds that predate recorded history. In these regions, stone huts, woven canopies, and earth-set dwellings sit beside sacred groves and communal fire circles. Many of these communities still follow pre-hex belief systems, measuring time the energy emitted from the Hex itself, which fluctuates in the region. This coexistence of modernity and antiquity is not accidental; it is the foundation of Lifa Nekata’s identity.
The Pescaran people are central to this balance. While not confined solely to the Nekata Forest, Pescarans form the spiritual and cultural spine of Lifa Nekata. Their philosophy holds that civilisation and nature need not exist in opposition, provided one does not attempt to dominate the other. Pescarans often serve as forest wardens, ensuring that progress never tips into exploitation.
The Nekata Forest itself is revered rather than ruled. Entry is limited, monitored, and in many cases forbidden. Lifa Nekata maintains layered protections around its borders, from natural terrain and controlled access routes to trained wardens who understand the forest’s shifting behaviour. The belief is widely held that the forest is alive in ways science cannot yet catalogue, and that careless intrusion could provoke consequences far beyond national borders.
The beauty of the land surrounding the forest is profound. Rolling green highlands dissolve into mist-covered valleys, rivers braid through ancient stone, and the air grows cleaner the closer one approaches the forest’s edge. At dawn and dusk, the horizon often glows with filtered light refracted through dense canopies, creating scenes that many describe as spiritual rather than merely scenic.
For the people of Lifa Nekata, protection of the Nekata Forest is not framed as ownership, but obligation. To fail in this duty would be to sever a bond that predates nations and eras alike. In a world increasingly defined by power, industry, and expansion, Lifa Nekata stands as proof that a society can grow without forgetting what must remain untouched.
