SHAKRAS:
Shakras are strange collectible orbs that are found throughout the universe and can be used to purchase new skills, abilities, or modules for your Xenosuit, Spacecraft, or your Utility Gun. Access the Shakra Trees option via your ship, the Star Hunter.

Depending on which character, ability, and Xenosuit you choose, your character may have Shakras available to spend immediately, however you can save them up and spend them at a later time. Shakra trees can only be accessed when you are back on your ship.


ESSENCE:
Essence is the lifeblood of the universe. It is what brings life. Essence serves another purpose though, the ability to use the Arcana of the precursors. Essence allows you to cast spells, perform tasks, heal, and bend the very fabric of the world around you.

In order to gain Essence, your character can harvest essence cores, essence clusters, convert serum, or purchase from traders. Essence can also be found throughout the game. If you have no Essence available to you, then unfortunately you will not be able to use, or perform any tasks that require its use.

You can check each spell / perk you have unlocked for information on how much Essence it costs to perform said action / spell.


CREDITS:
Credits are the main currency used throughout the universe. It is rare that other inhabitants and other worlds will use anything different, but it can happen. Credits are awarded for missions, Expeditions, and through many other means.
